Bengaluru: According to a study undertaken by the Public Works Department (PWD), 942 spots across the state are considered as accident black spots. The government decided to release special funds to repair these black spots to bring down the accidents.

According to Deputy Chief Minister Govind Karjol, who is also the PWD minister, these black spots are identified after a scientific study. “At the time of the study, experts also suggested several measures to make these spots safe for the vehicle drivers,” he explained.

“Now the vehicles are moving at up to 180 Kilometer Per Hour speed as we improved the roads. This is also causing accidents,” he said.

He also informed that special allocation will be done for the repair of roads and bridges affected in the 2019 flood and landslides in the new budget.

Karjol informed that the inconveniences faced by the public while using the Fastag have been brought to the notice of the union government.
