Bengaluru: Finally, the state government has announced dates for this year’s Pulse Polio drive and according to the officials in the department this year the campaign will be held from April 2 to 30.
It is said that as of now, only the dates have been finalised, while the planning for the campaign is still on. “Pulse Polio is one of the important health campaigns. We will soon start discussion with all the stakeholders including several non governmental organisations,” informed a senior officer.
Every year, the drive used to be conducted during January and February, but this year the same was delayed due to the MR vaccination campaign launched jointly by the Department of Public Instruction (DPI) and Health Department.
“Last date of MR campaign has been extended till March 14. One of the reasons for the extension of the last date is poor response in few districts including BBMP limits,” he added.
