Bengaluru: Writer Rohith Chakrathirtha has been appointed as the head of the PU textbook revision committee. This committee is based to review the I PUC and II PUC history textbooks.

According to sources, the government constituted this committee despite department officials’ opposition.

According to the directions issued by the Primary and Secondary Education Minister B. C. Nagesh, there are complaints related to the lessons on the religions in the PU history textbooks. This review committee will look into these complaints.

“Based on the directions and decisions of the committee, new textbooks shall be printed and distributed,” the Minister ordered.

Rohith Chakrathirtha led review committee is now in the line of fire over the primary and high school textbooks revision.
