PU lecturers strike called off, evaluation to begin today

Bengaluru: The PU lecturers strike has been finally called off after a meeting with Primary and Secondary Education Minister Kimmane Rathnakar.
Now SFI calls protesting private lecturers ineligible for evaluation-1Pre-university college lecturers had boycotted II PU evaluation work for the last 14 days demanding better pay and other facilities.

Rathnakar told the agitating lecturers that the government is willing to hold talks on their demands, but won’t buckle under pressure for their blackmail.

The PU lecturers’ association president Thimmaiah Purle told the minister that they would be attending the evaluation work from Wednesday only because the students’ interests were affected.

“But our fight will continue. We cannot accept a single increment announced by the government, which is like alms to a beggar,” he said.

Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, has directed the officials to make evaluation with available human resources. He held meetings with education and finance departments, made it clear that the government cannot implement the Kumar Naik report as it would financially burden the government.

No grace marks for Mathematics

The State government who had formed a committee to look into the allegations that out of syllabus questions were asked in the Mathematics, announced that there won’t be any grace marks, as all the question were within the syllabus.
