PSI, journalist arrested in abduction, extortion case; Rs 26 lakhs seized

Bengaluru: In a shocking development, the city police arrested an inspector and a journalist for abducting and extorting Rs.26 lakhs from an arecanut vendor.

Arrested are SJ Park station inspector Jeevan Kumar, 31 and journalist Jnana Prakash (44).

City market station police has arrested both. Interestingly, both Jnana Prakash and Jeevan Kumar are relatives.

According to the sources, the duo had abducted Shivakumar, an arecanut vendor from Tumakur in car. Both of them fled with Rs.26 lakhs cash from Shivakumar, following which the victim lodged a complaint with the city police.

Jeevan Kumar, a 2017 batch police officer abducted Shivakumar in uniform along with the Jnana Prakash.
