Bengaluru: State BJP president B S Yeddyurappa on Sunday demanded the state government to promote Ratna Prabha, Additional Chief Secretary, Commerce and Industries Department, as the next Chief Secretary of the state. The incumbent Chief Secretary Arvind Jadhav’s term is expected to be completed this month end.

Speaking to mediapersons after inaugurating BJP Mahila Morcha at state BJP office in Bengaluru, Yeddyurappa said that Chief Minister Siddaramaiah should take measures to facilitate Ratna Prabha, a dalit, to become the next Chief Secretary of the state. “I came to know about the attempts being made to make a non-dalit as the chief secretary. I want the Chief Minister to promote Additional Chief Secretary Ratna Prabha to the post of Chief Secretary. I want the Chief Minister to take all measures to avoid injustice to Ratna Prabha, a dalit woman”, Yeddyurappa said.

The state BJP president further said that Ratna Prabha has done a commendable job while working as the Deputy Commissioner and Additional Chief Secretary. “I want the chief minister to ensure that Ratna Prabha becomes the next Chief Secretary of the state”, he said.
