Bengaluru: City police commissioner Sunil Kumar informed that, as per the directions of the Election Commission of India (ECI), prohibitory orders will be imposed across the city in accordance with section 144 for three days.
In a press release, Kumar informed that, as per the ECI’s directions, the prohibitory orders will be effective from April 16 and continue till April 19.
“These prohibitory orders will be imposed to ensure a free and fair election,” he stated.
As per the prohibitory orders, people will be banned from moving in groups or engaging in any kind of speeches. The police will maintain a strict vigil across the city to maintain law and order.
