Bengaluru: The High Court of Karnataka on Tuesday upheld life sentence for Shivakumar in BPO employee Prathiba murder case.

The High Court of Karnataka upheld the life imprisonment ruled by sessions court in October, 2010.

The cab driver Shivakumar was convicted in kidnap, rape and murder of a BPO employee on December 13, 2005.

The accused had appealed to the High Court questioning the lower courts verdict in 2010.

The incident had grabbed international attention and raised the question of women security in the city the Garden City.
