Prameela Naidu is women’s commission’s new chairperson

Bengaluru: The state government has appointed R Prameela Naidu as the new chairperson of the state women’s commission.

An advocate by profession, Naidu served the BJP’s state unit as its secretary.

The women’s commission is an autonomous body which deals with the implementation of various women-centric laws and the safety and security of women.

Till Naidu’s appointment, the post had been vacant for the past two years. Naidu’s term will be for three years.
