Bengaluru: A pourakarmika woman died on the spot after a tanker crushed her in J P Nagar of the city. The incident occurred on Sunday, April 28 evening while she was cleaning the road.

The deceased woman is identified as Andalamma (55), a resident of Parappana Agrahara.

According to the Jayanagara traffic police, Andalamma was crossing the road when the mishap occurred.

“A constable who was on duty rushed her to the hospital where she died,” said police.

Later, the police seized the tanker and arrested the driver. They suspect overspeeding as the cause of the accident.
