Bengaluru: Upset by the increasing numbers of deaths due to the potholes, the state government has directed all the executive and assistant executive engineers of the BBMP to visit their respective wards between 7.30 and 10.30am every day.

All the engineers have been directed to visit every nook and corner of their respective wards to ensure that there are no civic issues.

An order in this regard has been issued by the city development minister K J George who is under fire from various quarters of the society over crumbling city infrastructure following last week’s heavy downpour.

As per the order, engineers must stay back in their respective wards till 10.30 am and update the Commissioner. As per the order, the BBMP has identified as many as 16,000 potholes on roads in the last one week and all of them must be filled through wetmix.

K J George also directed the BBMP commissioner, N Manjunatha to complete the ongoing projects by January 2018 to ensure that the same kind of problems do not repeat next year.
