Bengaluru: News that the distribution of cabinet portfolios may be postponed due to certain reasons has disappointed the Congress and JD(S) MLAs.

Earlier, it was said that the state leaders of the Congress and JD(S) parties would be travelling to Delhi on Saturday, October 6 and returning on Sunday, October 7, after attending a meeting in connection with the distribution of portfolios. However, sources have said that there won’t be any discussion regarding portfolio distributions in Delhi.

According to sources, a meeting will be held in Bengaluru with the General Secretary of AICC in charge of Karnataka, K C Venugopal about whether the portfolio distributions should be done immediately or later, and only after discussing matters with him will the bigwigs of the Congress and JD(S) parties head to Delhi. K C Venugopal will be in Bengaluru to attend a protest that is being staged by the Congress party in opposition of the Rafale deal on Monday, October 8.

Reportedly, former chief minister Siddaramaiah also held a secret meeting with KPCC President Dinesh Gundurao to discuss about the portfolio distribution and it is also said that the dates for the by-polls will be out soon.
