Police to file case against PSI Roopa

Bengaluru: The police department has decided to file a case against PSI Roopa Tambad, who attempted suicide on July 19.

Acting on the directions of the lower court, the department is set to file case under section 309, under which committing suicide is a crime. The case is expected to be filed once Roopa gets discharged from the hospital.

Meanwhile, the incident by and large has been dubbed as an attempt of blackmail by the officer.

33-year-old Roopa, attached to Vijayanagar police station overdosed herself on paracetamol pills on Tuesday, July 19. She took the extreme step after an argument with a senior at work with regard to a missing mobile phone related to a case registered at the station, which the senior claimed to have seen in her possession.
