Bengaluru: The Bandepalya police have registered a complaint of sexual harassment against a supervisor of Indira Canteen. A 35-year-old woman employed as a cashier at the Indira Canteen in Bandepalya has filed a sexual harassment complaint with the police against her supervisor.
In her complaint to the police, she has said that Satish, 34, an ex-army personnel, was coercing her into having a relationship with him. She alleged that he started spreading rumours among other workers when she spurned his advances.
The woman joined the canteen as a cashier three months ago. Satish, a resident of Bommanahalli, supervised 15 canteens, including the one where she worked.
She told the police that Satish would call her at night, while she was at home with her family. When she confronted him, he allegedly threatened to fire her.
When questioned by the police, however, Satish denied the allegations and said that the woman was guilty of misappropriating money.
He claimed that he had submitted a report to the authorities concerned about the irregularities and was waiting for them to take disciplinary action.
The police have registered a case against the supervisor under Sections of 354 A, 504, and 506 of the Indian Penal Code.
