Bengaluru: The Indiranagar police have registered a case against five persons for violating the Supreme Court’s order by bursting crackers after 10 PM.
According to the police, as per the Supreme Court’s order and the notification issued by the state government, the bursting of firecrackers was allowed only between 8 PM and 10 PM. Based on complaints from the locals, these five young people were detained and a case was registered under the Karnataka Police Act.
“We released them after issuing a warning that the Supreme Court’s order must be followed else action will be initiated against them,” the police informed.
“This is the first time someone has been detained for violating a Supreme Court order with regard to the bursting of firecrackers. Compared to the previous years, this time fewer crackers were burst,” police added.
