Bengaluru: Akhila Karnataka Police Mahasabha President Shashidhar Venugopal, who is behind bars, facing charging of sedition has deposed before the Judge and said that the CCB sleuths have been torturing him to make statements as per their wish, and that he would be killed by the CCB if he remained in their custody for some more days.
Shashidhar, who was nabbed on the charges of instigating the mass leave protest of the constabulary on June 4, was produced before the court on June 14 by the CCB.
He made these claims while the hearing of his bail plea was on. The Court has remanded him to police custody till June 18, adding that Shashidhar should be allowed to meet his family members and take food from home.
Meanwhile, Poornima, Shashidhar’s wife, claiming his innocence has said that her husband has been falsely implicated for political reasons.
“He is the sole bread-winner of the family. I have no money to pay my children’s college fee. Our family is in deep financial crisis as he is away,” said Poornima weeping before the court urging for her husband’s release.
