Police nab undertrial who escaped from Parappana Agrahara prison

Bengaluru: The police on Saturday arrested the undertrial who escaped from Prappana Agrahara Central Prison by hiding himself in a goods van on Tuesday morning. The undertrial was nabbed based on a tip-off from an informer.

Two Nigerian drug peddlers nabbed in Bengaluru-1According to Sanjaynagar Police Station, a police team rushed to Hebbal after receiving information about Arya alias David who had escaped from Parappana Agrahara Central Prison a few days ago. “We received information today morning at 10 am about David hiding near Hebbala flyover. Two police constables rushed to the spot and took the undertrial into custody. The investigation is on,’’ said an official.

The police sources also stated that David had tried to escape when the two police constables tried to nab him but in vain.

It may be recalled that a 30-year-old undertrial made a dramatic escape from Parappana Agrahara Central Prison by hiding himself in a goods van on Tuesday morning. The goods van had come to the prison to supply vegetables to the prison’s kitchen. The police sources said David was about to complete a four-year sentence and there were two more cases (related to housebreak, theft and robbery) pending against him.
