Bengaluru: The Ramamurthy Nagar police arrested one person on charges of theft and recovered gold and diamond ornaments worth Rs 1.60 crore from him. The police have identified the accused as Manjesh (22), a resident of Lakkenahalli village, Yeshwanthpura post, Malur Taluk, Kolar district.
The police said the accused was arrested based on a CCTV footage and technical information. During the interrogation, the accused confessed to the crime and informed the police that the stolen articles were hidden at a manhole under a tree at SNL Layout on Rampura Main Road in Avalahalli police limits. The accused hidden the gold and diamond ornaments wrapped in a black colour sweater.
The police have registered a case.
Five held for murder
The Bagalakunte police have arrested five people for murdering a woman. The police have identified the accused as Anjaneyaswamy alias Raju (52), T Dasarahalli, Bengaluru, Mallesh Nayak (26), Hesaraghatta, Bengaluru, Muniya Nayak (24), Kadinakere Hobli, Chikkanayakanahalli Taluk, Tumkur district, Yogesh Nayak (21), near Ganesh Temple, Majestic, Bengaluru and Muniyappa (48), Nelamangala taluk, Bengaluru Rural District.
The police said the accused have confessed to the crime. According to the police, the accused killed Anasuyamma by stuffing her blouse into her month while she was taking bath. The main accused is a relative of Anasuyamma. He wanted to usurp her property since she has no dependents.
