Bengaluru: The State police have arrested one more person on charges of instigating policemen to go on mass leave protest on June 4.

Speaking to the media on Thursday, Director General and Inspector General of Police (DG & IGP) Om Prakash said that, two people were arrested for instigating policemen to go on mass leave through social media.

The arrested are Shashidhar Venugopal and Basavaraj from Yelahanka and Hubli respectively, he said.

For the last one week, some outside elements have been trying to create anarchy among the policemen, but in vain. As of now, no policeman has applied for leave, he added.

A few dismissed police constables had tried to create an unruly atmosphere in the police department, but failed to have any impact on policemen who are known for discipline, Om Prakash said.

Meanwhile, the DG & IGP assured that the law and order on June 4 will be normal.

Adding further, Om Prakash said that all sorts of measures were taken to redress the grievances of the policemen. The demands were not new and were pending for quite a long time, he said.
