Bengaluru: The K.G. Halli police have busted a prostitution racket and arrested six people including three women. The police have rescued five minor girls aged 14 to 17 years who were lured into it with money and food.
The police have identified the accused as Shakeela, (40), Muneerabhanu, (30), Yasmeen Sultana (35), Mubarak (23), Imran (23) and Nadeem Mohammed (23).
They have been arrested under various sections of POCSO and Juvenile Justice Act and remanded to judicial custody, while the five girls have been counselled and reunited with their families.
A case has been registered against the accused at KG Halli police station under Sections 366(a), 370(a), 372 IPC, and U/s 4&5 of I.T.P. Act and U/s 17 of POCSO Act and U/s 75, 81 of J.J.Act.
On inquiring those girls, it has been disclosed that their guardian/parents forced them to prostitution against their will and shifted them from one place to another place. The arrested persons used to lead luxurious life style with the money earned through prostitution by forcing the minor girls for prostitution.
