Poet, editor land behind bars for reciting, sharing anti-CAA poem

Bengaluru: In an unprecedented crackdown, the Gangavati rural police arrested a poet and an editor for allegedly reciting anti-CAA poem and sharing it on the social media.

Young poet Siraj Bisaralli had recited an anti CAA poem in the Aanegondi festival organised by the state government. He has been arrested under the sedition charges.

Meanwhile, Raja Bhakshi, an editor of a Kannada digital media too has been arrested for sharing this poem.

Protest in Bengaluru

Like-minded organisations have called for a protest infront of Town Hall, on Wednesday evening tocondemn the arrest.
