
Bengaluru: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will start his two-day tour to Karnataka today with a visit to the Siddaganga mutt in Tumakuru at 2.30 pm. Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa will accompany him.
As per the schedule, Prime Minister Modi will arrive at HAL airport in a special air force flight at 1.30 pm. From there he will reach Tumakuru in a special helicopter. He will return to Bengaluru in the evening after attending a farmer’s rally in Tumakuru. In the evening he will attend a DRDO event in Bengaluru.
Keeping in mind the law and order situation at the time of PM’s visit the Tumakuru district administration banned the sale of liquor, on Thursday across the district.
Over 3,000 police personnel from across the state are deputed in Tumakuru for the security arrangements. Four SPs of the neighbouring districts will monitor the security arrangements.
Meanwhile, in Shivamogga hundreds of farmers were arrested from the city railway station. These farmers were on their way to Tumakuru to hold a protest against anti-farmer policies of the union government.
