
Bengaluru: Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Yelahanka air base, Bengaluru on Thursday afternoon.
He was received by Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa along with BJP leaders Sadananda Gowda, Prahlad Joshi, R Ashok and others.
He was welcomed with a traditional Mysore ‘Peta’ and a shawl.The PM left for Tumakuru to visit the Siddaganga Mutt from here. He will then attend an event in Junior College Grounds, Tumakuru and address a gathering at the Krishi Karman Awards presentation ceremony where 1.5 lakh farmers are expected to be present.
Modi will launch the 4th phase of the Kisan Samman Yojana in Tumakuru.
Narendra Modi will visit the Sree Siddaganga Mutt in Tumakuru and unveil a plaque to mark the laying of Foundation Stone for a memorial museum of Shri Shri Shivakumar Swamiji.
The Prime Minister will offer prayers and also plant a ‘Bilva Patre’ sapling, near the Gadduge (final resting place) of late Siddaganga Seer Shivakumara Swami.
Ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Tumakuru, sale of alcohol in bars and wine shops in Tumakuru has been banned from 6 am on January 2 till midnight. Alcohol will be sold only at the KSBCL outlet during this period.
