Bengaluru: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has filed charge-sheet in a Special Court in Bengaluru on Friday against five arrested accused persons in Rudresh murder case.
Rudresh, a Rastriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) worker, was hacked to death on October 16 by two motorcycle-borne youths in full public view on Kamaraj Road less than one km from MG Road in Commercial Street Police Station limits.
The NIA files charge-sheet against Irfan Pasha, 32, a resident of Govindapura, Wasim Ahmed alias Wasim, 32, a resident of Austin Town, Mohammed Sadiq alias Mohammad Mazar alias Mazar, 35, a resident of Marappa Garden, Mohammed Muzeeb Ulla alias Mujeeb alias Maula, 46, a resident of RT Nagar, Asim Sheriff, 40, Benson Town, Bengaluru.
Irfan Pasha, Waseem Ahmed, Mohammad Sadiq and Mohammed Muzeeb Ulla were arrested on October 27, 2016 and Asim Sheriff was arrested on November 2, 2016 in Bengaluru.
According to the NIA charge-sheet, all accused arrested persons are members of Popular Front of India (PFI) and its affiliated political organization i.e. the Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI).
“None of the accused had personal enmity with the deceased Rudresh. He was killed solely because of his leadership/membership to a particular organization. Investigation has established that the killing was a clear act of terror with the intention to strike terror among a section of people. This was achieved by the broad daylight murder of a RSS member in uniform using a lethal weapon on October 16, 2016,’’ the NIA charge-sheet said.
The NIA investigation has established that accused persons and others had conspiracy meetings prior to the terrorist act near Aksa Masjid, and near Chota Charminar in Bengaluru in September 2016.
“It was decided to kill at least two RSS workers in uniform soon after their procession, Patha sanchalan. The killings of RSS workers would immediately strike terror in a section of people and prevent many of them joining the organization. Investigation has disclosed that the indoctrination of the members was done in order to make them believe that they were doing their act as part of fulfilling the objective of establishing Islam and Jihad by killing a Kafir (Member of RSS who is an Idol worshipper),’’ the NIA charge-sheet said.
Further investigation will continue under Section 173(8) of CrPC in this case, the NIA said in a release.
