Bangalore: The situation became tense on Sunday October 26 at Orchids, The International School, Jalahalli, where hundreds of parents started protesting in the school campus.

The parents protested demanding, to re-open the school from Monday October 27, onwards. They said that the students’ education is being hampered.

However the police stopped them from protesting, as they had not taken prior permission.

A meeting has been scheduled between the parents and Primary and Secondary Education Minister Kimmane Rathnakar for Wednesday October 29.

On Saturday evening, a meeting between the parents, school management and Police Commissioner M.N. Reddy had decided to restart classes from first to fifth standards from Monday.

But DPI officials made it clear that they will not allow the school management to restart the classes till the issue of recognition is not resolved.

The parents were protesting against the management decision not to restart classes for  VI and VII standards, as they said that other students’ education was at stake.

They further demanded that all the classes must be restarted. Action must be taken against the management, and the government should protect the interest of students, they said.
