Bengaluru: KPCC Chief G Parameshwar’s meeting with AICC President Sonia Gandhi and AICC General Secretary Digvijay Singh has gained several angles to it, with the sources revealing that Parameshwar has given a bad assessment of the Chief Minister on backdrop of ZP/TP and by elections held recently.
If sources are to be believed then Parameshwar has impressed up on the high command that the luxury watch issue had dented the image of the party to the extent that the Congress had taken a beating in the recently held grassroots-level polls.
The Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) has reportedly held the CM largely responsible for the party’s poor showing in the zilla and taluk panchayat elections and also for the defeat in two out of three constituencies for the recently held Assembly by elections.
Though details of the report are not available, it is said that Parameshwar has spoken about how the CM has placed individual choices above those of the party.
Sonia purportedly concurred with the KPCC’s view that the watch controversy had put the party on the back foot, especially since Rahul Gandhi has been attacking the Modi dispensation as a suit boot ki sarkar.
While news of the high command having called Siddaramaiah for a meeting on March 6, the same has not been confirmed.
