Bengaluru: A chaotic situation unfolded at Hasanamba Temple in Hassan, Karnataka, on Friday afternoon when several individuals reportedly experienced an electric shock, leading to a stampede-like scenario. The incident occurred after an electric wire on the premises broke.
The incident transpired around 1:30 pm when an electric wire nearby malfunctioned, causing the electric shock. Emergency services were swift to respond, with the injured promptly shifted to the district hospital in an ambulance. Although one person is reported to be in serious condition, hospital sources assure that all others are out of immediate danger.
Devotees at the temple expressed dissatisfaction, attributing the incident to the alleged negligence of the district administration.
Subsequently, the electrical issue was rectified, and the temple resumed its normal operations after some time. The annual Hasanamba Jatra Mahotsava, scheduled from November 2 to 14, continued with thousands of devotees from across the state visiting the temple daily for darshan of the deity.
