Bengaluru: Oyo Hotels and Homes CEO Ritesh Agarwal has been charged by the police for indulging in cheating and criminal breach of trust along with two other company representatives, according to a report by the Deccan Herald.
The charges were brought against Agarwal after businessman V R S Natarajan filed a complaint.
Natarajan is an ex-serviceman and the owner of Rajguru Shelter Hotels in BEML Layout, Whitefield, Bengaluru.
In his complaint, Natarajan alleged that Oyo Hotels took 80 per cent of the shares earned from hotel bookings as opposed to the 20 per cent stated in the original agreement that was brokered between the hotel owner and the company in June 2017.
Speaking to Deccan Herald, Natarajan also informed that several Bengaluru hotel owners were facing similar problems with Oyo.
A case has been registered in the Whitefield Police Station under sections 406 and 420 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
