Bengaluru: Alok Kumar, who served as the city police commissioner for barely 47 days before he was shunted out of the post, has said that his premature transfer is torture to him and his family.

In an interview with an English daily published in Bengaluru, he claimed that his premature transfer has caused him and his family a lot of mental agonies.

“We moved to the official residency just 20 days ago. Now, we are asked to move out. It is torture,” he stated.

Pointing out that he was in his office till 5.45 PM on Thursday, the day of his transfer, he said, “What was the hurry to take charge? I was not informed about my transfer at all,” he alleged.

His statement comes as a big embarrassment to the state police with several criticizing the state government for punishing the former compol, who is known as a tough officer.
