Order on 6th pay commission expected today

Bengaluru: The long-expected order on sixth pay commission recommendation for government employees working in various departments and retired employees are expected to be implemented on Thursday.

According to the sources, the Chief Minister has agreed to the recommendations of the commission and it would increase pay by 30%. Minimum basic payment will increase from Rs.9600 to Rs.17,000, and maximum basic payment would raise from Rs.79,800 to Rs.1,50,600.

The dearness allowance (DA) of around 45.25% will be merged with the basic pay. The monthly pension would increase to minimum Rs.8,500 and maximum 75,300, the maximum limit of the family pension would be increased to Rs. 45,180.

If the government revises the salary as per the recommendations, from July 2017, as per the expectations, it would cause an additional burden of Rs.10,508 crores annually to the government. The government has to pay Rs.875 crores per month for 9 months as arrears, which sums up to Rs.7,881 crores.

The commission didn’t show interest in changing the age-limit of the workers.
