Bengaluru: IMD Karnataka issued an orange alert for the Dakshina Kannada, Kodagu and Chikkamagalur districts forecasting heavy rainfall. The rain is expected to be accompanied by lightning.

A yellow alert has been issued to the Udupi, Uttara Kannada, Bengaluru Urban, Bengaluru Rural, Mysuru, Chamarajanagar, Mandya, Ramanagar Kolar, Hassan, and Tumakuru districts. A yellow alert has been issued with a forecast of moderate to heavy rainfall.

On Friday night, most of Southern Karnataka received heavy rainfall. This pre-monsoon rainfall helped the people start their farming activities.

Meanwhile, the monsoon rains are expected to enter the state in the first week of June.
