One nabbed in connection with rowdy sheeter murders

Bengaluru: The Konanakunte police, arrested one person in connection with the murder of two rowdy sheeters in Weavers Colony on Friday, November 23.

Murugan (34) and Palani (30) were hacked to death by eight people on November 21 at Weavers Colony in Konanakunte. It was suspected that they were attacked due to an old gang rivalry.

The arrested person has been identified as Manjunath (34).

Based on credible information, a team led by Bengaluru South deputy commissioner of police K Annamalai rushed to the Anjanapura forest, surrounded Manjunath and ordered him to surrender.

In a bid to avoid capture, Manjunath attacked sub-inspector Subramani with a sword and injured him. Two rounds were then fired at his legs after which he was arrested. The cops are now on the hunt for his accomplices.
