Bengaluru: In a tragic incident a traffic ASI attached to Wilson Garden Traffic police station died owing to Corona Virus on Sunday morning.
This is the third death of a Corona Warrior in this week.
The 59-year-old ASI was tested positive for SARS-CoV-2 on June 18 and was undergoing treatment at Sparsh Hospital.
As per the statement issued by the Bengaluru East Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic), the ASI was in contact with five other staff members and 20 primary contacts. The test results of all the contacts are awaited.
It may be recalled that a 56-year-old constable attached to Kalasipalyam police station had too died on Saturday at Victoria Hospital. On the same say he was tested positive for COVID-19.
The two deaths come days after a traffic assistant sub-inspector, who was attached to the VV Puram Traffic police, tested positive following his death on Tuesday.
