Bengaluru: B S Yediyurappa took charge as the new Chief Minister of the state about 15 days ago. He has not yet formed his cabinet and due to this delay, the CM is touring the flood-hit pockets of the state all alone.

This one-man show has made way for a lot of criticism.

Being the only person in his cabinet, the 76-year-old leader was in New Delhi to finalise the cabinet formation when he received the news of unprecedented rain and floods in the Mumbai-Karnataka, Malnad and Coastal Karnataka regions. He had to rush back to his state to tackle the situation, without taking any decision on the cabinet.

Insiders say that the delay in the finalisation of the list is either because the BJP national leadership is not happy with the allocations made by the CM or because the BJP is indecisive about the 17 rebel MLAs. Fearing a reverse operation by the opposition, the BJP is delaying the cabinet formation, many say.

Since there are no ministers, Yediyurappa has sent senior IAS officers to 12 rain and flood-hit districts to supervise rescue and relief operations. The CM is personally in touch with them to ensure that the relief works are on track.

While the opposition has attacked the CM for not forming the cabinet, he is doing all that he can, which has been appreciated by many.
