Bengaluru: Nearly two months after the murder of an Ola cab driver, the Nandini Layout police have finally arrested the perpetrators.
The arrested – Mallikarjuna and Mahalinga were acquainted with the victim, Kpini Gowda alias Kumar (34), and confessed to having murdered him since he refused to share his alcohol with them.
On May 17, when the police first found Kumar’s body in the locked cab, they suspected that he had died of suffocation and hence registered a case of unnatural death. However, the truth was revealed when the post-mortem reports indicated that he was murdered.
A case of murder was filed on July 3 and the police zeroed in on the accused during the course of their investigations. In their confession to the police, the accused admitted to murdering Kumar and then placing his body in the cab.
