Bengaluru: The state government now permits marriage in choultries. However, the number of guests should not exceed 40 members.

A decision in this regard was taken on Friday June 25 by Chief Minister B. S. Yediyurappa after a delegation of choultry owners met him.

Only non-AC choultries will be permitted.

All these days marriages were allowed only in the houses. The stringent rules to the effect were imposed after the outbreak of Covid – 19 second wave.

However, the government declined to relax norms for the final rites and related rituals. Only five persons can attend the rituals.
