Bengaluru: Noted Kannada actor Chiranjeevi Sarja, 39, died in a private hospital in the city due to cardiac arrest.

According to the sources, he was complaining of breathing-related issues yesterday and was taken to the hospital where he breathed his last today around 3.30 pm.

The body is expected to be handed over the police and BBMP authorities for swab collection as per the prevailing COVID 19 standard operating procedures.

Last year Sarja had married Meghana Raj, his childhood sweetheart and actress. He was the nephew of Kannada actor Arjun Sarja, brother of actor Dhruva Sarja, and grandson of veteran actor Shakti Prasad.

Chiranjeevi Sarja had made his sandalwood debut in 2009 with the movie Vayuputra. He had acted in over 20 films. Shivarjuna is his last movie. This movie yet to be released.
