Bengaluru: If sources in the BJP state unit are to be believed, Shobha Karandlaje, incumbent MP of Udupi-Chikkamagaluru constituency has lost ticket to Jayaprakash Hegde.
According to the sources, even after pressure from BJP state unit president BS Yeddyurappa, Shobha failed to get the ticket.
“Instead Hegde has been given ticket. A final decision in this regard is expected today. BSY continued his efforts to secure a ticket for Shobha,” confirmed sources.
It can be recalled that four incumbent MPs of the state are facing stiff resistance from the activists. “One of them is the Shobha,” said a leader who wished to be unnamed.
“Party finalised the candidates for all the 28 Lok Sabha constituencies. The list was supposed to be made public on Tuesday, but a senior leader opposed the release of list on Tuesday saying it is not a good day,” he explained.
