Bengaluru: A miscreant damaged the ATM kiosk at Apollo Hospital on Bannerghatta Road in an attempt to break it open under JP Nagar police limits on Sunday. There was no security guard at the ATM.

The incident occurred at the ATM kiosk of Axis Bank at around 1.15 am. The CCTV footage has captured one person attempting to break open the ATM machine. He fled the spot immediately after damaging the glass pane, an official said.

The police commissioner had issued directions to banks to ensure mandatory security at ATMs across the City. Additional Commissioner of Police (Law and Order) Alok Kumar said that a review meeting will be held in the first week of March to discuss the guidelines issued in this regard.
