Bengaluru: BJP President Amit Shah has reportedly kept BJP state president on leash in appointing core committee members and the list released in New Delhi on Thursday reveals the same. Shah chose not to include Shobha Karandlaje and Ravi Kumar, close followers of BSY, in the core committee though their names were recommended by the latter.
The central leadership sent a strong message to BSY by axing his key followers from the panel. Yeddyurappa earlier this week faced the wrath of the party old-timers for allegedly not consulting them before appointing State and district office-bearers.
Other than Yeddyurappa, other members included in the list are Union ministers H N Ananth Kumar and D.V. Sadananda Gowda, leaders of Opposition in the Assembly and Council, Jagadish Shettar and K S Eshwarappa, former state unit president Prahlad Joshi, former deputy chief minister R Ashoka, former ministers C.T. Ravi, Aravind Limbavali, C.M. Udasi and Govind Karjol, and Nalin Kumar Kateel, MP. General Secretary (organisations), Ram Lal, national joint general secretary (organisations) and in charge of Karnataka, Santosh, and state general secretary (organisation), Arun Kumar.
Amit Shah has asked the members to meet at least once a month or more frequently. According to sources, names of Karandlaje and Ravi were not included as they were relatively junior in the organisation. The list was drawn up keeping in view of the posts they hold as well as the experience of the members.
