Bengaluru: According to sources, Congress MLC Raghu Achar criticised the Karnataka Legislative Council on Friday December 24, saying it had turned into a temporary shelter for losers in Assembly elections who spent crores of rupees to be a member of it. He eventually apologised for his statement after other members objected.

“There was a time when the house was filled with intellect, but now it is a home full with rich people,” said Raghu.

“No one had come here without spending money, including myself,” he remarked, referring to BJP MLC Kota Srinivas Poojary.
