Bengaluru: Amid reports of a sudden spike in the number of COVID-19 cases in the state, CM BS Yediyurappa made it clear that he is not in favor of another lockdown. “Instead I will request the prime minister to accelerate the economic activities,” he said.

His statement comes amidst reports of the TamilNadu government’s decision to reimpose intense lockdown from June 19 as the COVID-19 cases are increasing day by day.

“There is no need for another lockdown in Karnataka as the situation is now totally under control,” he said. “Our target is improving the economic activities and returning to the normalcy,” he added.
