Bengaluru: Bengaluru City in-charge minister K J George rejected all the allegations that the state government was indulged in vendetta politics by filing SLP in Supreme Court BJP president and former chief minister B. S. Yeddyurappa on land denotification.
Speaking to reporters, George said that if any discrepancy is found in the charges made against his own party minister D. K. Shivakumar too, the state government will not hesitate to file a SLP in the Supreme Court.
“There is no vendetta on the part of the state government against anybody. There is merit in Yeddyurappa’s case. If we find any merit in Benniganahalli land denotification issue involving Shivakumar, then we will not hesitate to file SLP,” he said.
Reacting to Modi and B S Yeddyurappa’s call to make Karnataka a Congress-free state, he said, “No force on this earth would be able to make Karnataka state Congress-free, not even Prime Minister Narendra Modi or Yeddyurappa.”
“The geographical and social clout and reach of the Congress party are very wide and deep. One must remember that when the entire country voted for Janata Party in 1977, it was Karnataka which returned Congress back to power in 1978. Karnataka is the stronghold of Congress and no one can dismantle it,” the minister said.
