Bengaluru: Former Prime Minister HD Deve Gowda has stated that his grandson, actor Nikhil Kumaraswamy, son of former CM HD Kumaraswamy will shift his political base to Ramanagar.

Speaking to the reporters after inspecting the site shortlisted for Nikhil’s marriage ceremony in Chennapatna, Gowda stated that as the people of Ramanagar decided to bless him, he will concentrate on the Ramanagar district.

This announcement has come when Congress strongman DK Shivakumar is trying to expand his influence across the Ramanagar district, which is considered as the Vokkaliga fort.

“Even though we are all born in Hassan district, it is the Ramanagar district, which has given political life to us. So Nikhil will also serve the district in the future,” he said adding that Nikhil contesting from Mandya for the Lok Sabha polls was accidental.

Meanwhile, Kumaraswamy is planning to print 1.50 lakh invitation for his son’s marriage to distribute across the district.
