Bengaluru: National Investigation Agency (NIA) sleuths grilled three contacts of the arrested ophthalmologist Abdur Rahman, who was found to have a connection with the Islamic State.

According to sources, the NIA officials grilled Rahman about his reason for being in contact with the IS in India.

Sources added that the NIA is trying to find out local contacts of the arrested doctor who allegedly helped the IS treat its wounded members in the Middle-East. However, until now, the agency has not found any evidence of his local contacts.

Rahman’s arrest has sent shockwaves across the state as he is the first doctor from the state who has been arrested for terrorist links.
