Bengaluru: Police Commissioner Praveen Sood on Tuesday night announced that they have registered an FIR in connection with the molestation and harassment of women on M.G. Road and Brigade Road during the New Year revelry.

“We have taken action by registering a FIR. Investigation is in progress. Police is working…. though silently. Enquiry is already underway by an officer of DCP rank. As promised we have found credible evidence repeat credible evidence in a case of wrongful confinement, molestation and attempt to rob,” he tweeted.

He said that the investigating officer has thoroughly examined feed from 45 CCTV cameras on MG Road and the police are in possession of unedited video footages.

The city police had come under flak for not registering a case following allegations of unruly behavior by men and ill-treatment of women.
