Bengaluru: The Namma Metro’s Green Line (from Nagasandra to Yelachenahalli) will get six-car trains from October. The Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) made an announcement in this regard in a press release.

In the release, the BMRCL stated that 25 of the three-car trains have been converted into six-car trains. It added that the trains were not introduced on the Green Line till now due to logistical issues, primarily related to power supply.

“The constraints in the local capacity of receiving substation have since been addressed. From October 1, onwards BMRCL is committed to induct more 6-car train sets on the north-south (Green) line at the rate of three or four trains per month. We are targeting to complete commission of the 50 train sets by March 2020,” BMRCL Chief Public Relations Officers Yashvanth Chavan said in the release.

Two six-car trains have already been deployed on the line, however, they did not make a positive impact.

The introduction of more six-car trains will allow the daily commuters to breathe easy.
