Bengaluru: Namma metro had the highest number of commuters travelling during New Year, breaking all the previous records.
Disclosing the information, BMRCL Public Relations Officer said the New Year figures of 2, 09,732 broke the previous record of 1, 97,928 on July 28, 2016 when the city of Bengaluru had witnessed a sudden bandh call.
Namma metro had extended its service timings till 2 am in the morning on January 1 to facilitate revellers getting back home past midnight. Around 33,106 people utilised the services during extended hours, PRO clarified.
