Bengaluru: BJP state unit election officer CT Ravi, who is also the state Kannada and Culture minister will announce the unanimous election of Nalin Kumar Kateel as the president of the party-state unit.

Kateel, who was appointed as the party-state unit president in July 2019, after the then president BS Yediyurappa was sworn-in as the Chief Minister.

As party organisational elections were completed recently, now Kateel needs to be elected as per the party constitution. As Kateel was the only person who submitted an application for the president’s post, he will be announced as the state unit leader unopposed.

A felicitation programme for Kateel will be held at palace grounds at 3 pm. Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa and others will participate in the event.
