Nalapad appeals to High Court for bail in assault case

Bengaluru: Following the rejection of his bail plea by the the 62nd Additional Sessions Court of the City, Mohammad Nalapad Harris has approached the High Court seeking a bail in connection to the assault case on Vidwath.

Nalapad who is the prime accused in the assault case has questioned the rejection of his bail plea by the 62nd Additional Sessions Court of the City in his appeal. The application might be considered for hearing on June 4 or 5.

“The police have finished investigations into the case and submitted a charge sheet to the court. So, there is no need to keep Nalapad in judicial custody,” read the appeal. It added, “More attention is being given to the case as the accused is a son of the MLA. The High Court has granted bail for another accused in the case. So, bail should be granted to Nalapad also.”

A case was registered at Cubbon Park police station following an assault by Mohammed Nalapad and 7 others on Vidwath at Farzi Cafe in U B City on February 17. Nalapad was arrested on February 19.
